As a second generation son of Holocaust survivors who were lifelong friends of Roman, I had the honor and privilege of knowing him for many years. He was a remarkable person not only in his superior intellect which informed his many writings and talks but in his unrelenting commitment and tireless devotion to his mission of keeping the history of the Holocaust alive. Just as remarkable, his gentlemanly character and softspoken manner made him special and unique to me. Not only am I deeply saddened by the loss of an extraordinary man but view his passing as the silencing of an important voice. May he forever rest in peace.

There are no words to express my sadness on the loss of such an incredible, inspiring, righteous person who touched so many throughout his lifetime. May his memory be for a blessing.
