Rose Constance Tully (nee Gallagher) was born to Hughie and Annie, and raised in Mountcharles, Ireland. She filled her days in the town with harmless mischief and doting on any animal that was fortunate to cross her path. Rose came to the US in her teens to join her big sister Kathleen, whom she looked up to all her life. She started work at an office but left soon after because the people were “not nice.” She moved to the White Castle carhop, where the gossip behind the counter and banter with customers suited her much better. This started a lifetime of hard work and service to others at the Irish Pavilion and as a babysitter, her life’s calling. She showered her charges with love and affection and they cried leaving her at day’s end. She met her husband John Joseph Tully, from Cullens, Sligo, at a dance. They would go on to win many jive competitions in the years ahead and to get married and have a son, Joseph. Rose loved her friends and family and always greeted them with a sparkling smile and a barrage of compliments. Her neighbors marveled at her manicured sidewalk and her concern for them. In her last years, Pathra Bey provided Rose with the same selfless care and patience Rose had given so many others. She was loved, and we hope to see her again. She is predeceased by her husband, Joe, and her siblings James, Mary Elizabeth, William, John Patrick, and Mary Celine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the New York Memory Center
