Rosemary Pellegrini (née Casale), age 78, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on March 19, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Maria "Mary" (née Perez) and Thomas Casale, Rosemary was baptized at Our Lady of Grace Church, a place that remained deeply meaningful throughout her life. She spent her early years between Valley Stream, Freeport, and Lakeview, Long Island, growing up in a large, close-knit family before eventually returning to Brooklyn, where she met the love of her life, Antonio "Tony" Pellegrini.
Rosemary and Tony were married at Our Lady of Grace Church and later built their life together in Coney Island, a neighborhood they cherished and proudly called home while raising their family. It is also where Rosemary’s Funeral Mass will be held, bringing her life full circle in the church that marked both her beginning in faith and her marriage.
She was a loving sister to Joann, Prudy, Joey, and Vinny, and shared lifelong bonds filled with laughter and love. She was also a beloved sister-in-law to Lucretia and Lisa, with whom she enjoyed a cherished tradition of monthly cake and coffee visits. Rosemary was a devoted aunt, great-aunt, and a loyal friend to many.
Rosemary is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Tony and her cherished baby son, Thomas (1972), both of whom she missed deeply throughout her life.
She was a devoted mother to Tommaso, Anthony (and his wife, Sandra), Maria, and Vince. Her love for her children was constant and unwavering, and her home was always filled with warmth, support, and the comfort of her cooking. Her daughter Maria held a particularly special place in her heart, as both daughter and best friend.
Rosemary’s greatest joy was being “Grandma” to Anthony, Michael, and Gia. She adored her grandchildren and was their biggest supporter, proudly attending their milestones, including Gia’s First Holy Communion and dance recital.
She had a deep love for family gatherings, especially when everyone was together sharing food and conversation. Rosemary also loved the beach and found peace in its simplicity. At home, she enjoyed quiet evenings watching television with Maria and keeping up with her favorite soap operas.
Rosemary also treasured her years working at Lincoln High School, where she formed lasting friendships and found great fulfillment in her work and colleagues.
Above all, Rosemary was the heart of her family. She lived a life centered on love, devotion, and togetherness, and she leaves behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and unwavering family bonds.
She will be deeply missed, but her love will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
