Salvatore D'Elia

Salvatore D’Elia, 80, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. A proud United States Navy veteran, Salvatore honorably served his country during the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic. Above all, Salvatore was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Geraldine, and his two children, Joseph and his wife, Bernadette, and Lisa and her husband, Peter.

Salvatore will be remembered not only for the love he gave to those around him, but also for the joy he brought into their lives. He had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a gift for storytelling that could turn an ordinary moment into a memorable one. Whether sharing a story, taking a car ride, or simply spending time with the people he loved, Salvatore had a way of making those around him feel connected and happy.

Salvatore’s life was defined by love, family, service, and the countless moments of happiness he shared with others. His legacy will continue through the generations of family he leaves behind.

Visitation will be held at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home, 2005 West 6th St, Brooklyn, NY 11223, US, on August 20, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church, 7201 15th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11228, on August 21, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
