SAMUEL WOLFE, a World War ll hero and successful businessman who worked in the glass and cosmetic industries, died peacefully on June 25, 2013 at his home in Delray Beach, Florida. He was 95 years old.
Mr. Wolfe was a Supply Sergeant who served in the US Army from 1941-1945, in Patton's Third Army, Fourth Armored Division and traveled throughout Europe. He landed on Normandy Beach on D Day plus four.
Mr. Wolfe loved opera and Broadway show tunes and enjoyed singing in summer productions such as Guys and Dolls and Pal Joey. A consummate New Yorker, his favorite song was "New York, New York," and Central Park was his favorite place to spend an afternoon.
Mr. Wolfe is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Lillian Wolfe, his daughter, Rhona Wolfe Friedman, and son, Barnett Ian Wolfe, son-in-law, Donald J. Friedman, daughter-in-law, Jill King and his grandchildren, Nathaniel and Alex Friedman and Danny, Matt and Rebecca Wolfe.
