Born in Bennettesville, South Carolina by his mother Rosa-Lee Shedrick and father Joseph Campbell Jr. Shedrick Campbell was 1 of 13 children.
At the young age of 18, he migrated from the south, to New York, to stay with his uncle, Robert Campbell (may he Rest In Peace.)
In 1977, at the age of 21, he became a member of a musical group called "The Sensational Golden Sons", which was managed by his uncle, Robert. He really enjoyed singing.
While pursuing his love for music, he also found another love and her name was Cheryl Pearsall and later had 10 children.
Shedrick was a family oriented man. He enjoyed family gatherings and doing things that connected him to his southern roots, like going fishing with his siblings and planting and growing food. He also loved cooking.
He didn’t have much of an education, but if you put a machine in front of him, he would teach himself how to operate it.
He got a job with the city of New York working for the Department of Transportation, where he obtained his class A CDL, granting him the ability to operate big trucks. If you asked him, he’d tell you, that with no education, it would not have been possible without the love and support of his wife, Cheryl Pearsall (may her soul Rest In Peace) who nurtured his mind with love and courage.
Shedrick was a dedicated, hard working father and husband, who made sure his children had everything they needed to become productive adults. He consistently displayed strength, versatility, and a love for his job. He proved that if you really want something in life, you have to be persistent and work your absolute hardest to get it and never allow anyone to deter you from your capabilities and dreams.
Shedrick F. Campbell was also a HERO. Not just for his children, but he was also a first responder when terror struck the city and the Twin Towers collapsed. Rushing out to ground zero to clean and rebuild a city, after a tragedy. For that, his name will go up on the wall out in Long Island with countless other heroes of 9/11.
He was brave, funny, loving, and always told it like it is, regardless of how you may have felt about it. And afterwards, he’d apologize just clear the tension, because his love for you was stronger than how he felt about you.
He will forever be in our hearts and his memory will forever live on through his offspring, Bevell, Aasim, Shuaib, Ayesha,Tahlimah, Safiyyah, Najah, Mikal, and Sajdah, as well as his 13 grandchildren.
Also, his siblings William "Bug" Campbell (75), Johnny Campbell (74), Michael "Mike" Campbell (73), Edgenora "Sista" Campbell (71), Roosevelt Campbell (68), Dianne Campbell (67), James "Tootsie Pop" Campbell (60), Calvin Campbell (59), Dorothy "Monk" Campbell (57), Iris Louis "Cat" Campbell (54) and our fallen angels Joann, Shirley, and Gregory (May they all Rest in Peace)
