We met in high school  ( 1970 ) and became best of friends.  Life was a blast and there was never ever a dull moment.          Never ! 
No social media, no text messaging and no Email.  
Steven’s home phone # was  931 2271  if my memory is correct.  That was how we got in touch when we were planning our daily adventures.  
We were part of a “crew” with a cast of characters that would upstage most award winning  TV shows of the past 40 - 50 years.

Our group of friends had personality and a swagger that was unique. 

Steven and I went off to college, together, as freshman roommates in 1972 and the fun continued. The stories are endless and the shared experiences could easily make a novel.

Life took us on different paths as time went on but the memories never leave.

Sad to hear of his passing..........my condolences to all of his dearest.

My parents were very close friends of the Margolis family. I’m glad to hear Edith is still alive as my Mom Reggie is at 92. I think my father and Leo were once in business together somehow. They were strong successful men. 
Edith always sent a wedding gift first. I’ll never forget that!! Please send my sympathy. I will share with my Mom. RIP. 

To Denise and family,

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Steven was a wonderful man who was very funny and sweet.  Even though our time together was short,  I will always remember him with special thoughts. I remember during the Carter administration and there was a gas shortage, we slept in his car at the gas station all night to be able to fill up the gas tank so we could go to DC to visit George and Roberta.  We had a lot of fun, love and laughter. He will be so missed. And we shared the same July 19th birthday.   Andrea Allen

Hello Denise and family, this is Steve Karpas.  Heard about Steven  and would like to offer my sincerest condolences.  Oddly, in the past month, I began thinking of Steve , it started while I was watching Alabama win the national championship.  Since then I sent a friend request through facebook and also messaged him. and then this  morning Aaron gave me the news.  I have great memories of Steven, tennis, little league and of course softball championships, he was always to my right at third base.   I will miss him.

I do wish I had found him earlier as we may have been able to get together.  We live in Pinehurst , NC  not far from Lauren.
