Susan LoPiccolo, age 93, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025. Born on November 6, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland, Susan was the cherished daughter of Aniello Pellone and Carmela Sorrentino. She was the beloved wife of the late Peter LoPiccolo, with whom she shared a devoted marriage until his passing on February 25, 1997.
Susan grew up in a large and loving family. She was predeceased by her sister, AnnaMarie, and is reunited in spirit with her many brothers: Anthony, Jerry, Johnny, Vincent, Carmine, Nicholas, Aniello (“BooBoo”), Salvatore, Frank, and Joseph.
She is survived by her four loving daughters—Cathy, Carmela, Susan, and AnnaMarie—and is predeceased by her son, Anthony. Susan was also blessed with four caring sons-in-law: Paul, Pat, John, and Neil. She took immense pride in her nine grandchildren—Peter, Suzanne, Melanie, Amanda, Paul, Sebastian, Melissa, Joseph, and Patricia—and her four great-grandchildren: Sebastian, Giavanna, Luke, and Madeleine, who brought her endless joy.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Susan spent her early years working alongside her father and brothers in Coney Island at Hollywood & Vesuvius and the Lido on the Boardwalk. Later, she and her husband became the proud owners of Sue & Pete’s Grocery Store, which they ran together from 1968 to 1988, serving their community with warmth and commitment for 20 years.
Susan will be remembered for her heart of gold, sharp sense of humor, and unmistakable personality—she could curse like a sailor, yet her kindness, loyalty, and sweetness made her unforgettable. To know her was to love her.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 19th, at Cusimano & Russo Funeral Home from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman who touched countless lives.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
