Theresa Quirke

Theresa peacefully passed at the age of 96, at the Queen of Peace Residence on September 24th. She will now join her husband Daniel, parents Mae and Albert Sebire, siblings Mary, Eileen and William (Sonny), mother-in-law Sarah Quirke and son-in-law Jack Cyran, who have gone to rest before her.

Theresa leaves behind her children Kathleen, Terry, Dorothy & John, Daniel & Karen, William & Theresa, Joseph & Phyllis, Paul & Debbie, as well as her grandchildren Brian, Christopher, Danielle, Kelly & Erin.

Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Theresa was born in Brooklyn, NY and was one of four children born to Mae and Al Sebire. Theresa was married to Daniel Quirke on September 25,1948. They had 7 wonderful children. Theresa lost her husband tragically in 1964 and went on to raise her family with loving support from family and friends. One of her greatest support systems came from the ladies of the Dropstitch Club who were some of her closest friends. Many good times were had together.

Theresa became secretary of attendance at Bishop Ford High School where she worked for 25 years.

Theresa’s greatest joy was being with her family, singing and dancing with her grandchildren, and kicking her feet up to New York, New York. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She will be missed more than words can tell. Her memories were stolen from her over the last few years, but the love could never be lost.

Visitation will be held at Duffy’s Funeral Home 255 Ninth Street Brooklyn, NY Sunday, October 1, 2023 2-7pm

Funeral Mass will be at Holy Name of Jesus Church 245 Prospect Park W Brooklyn, NY 11215 @ 10:00 am

Interment with Daniel Quirke at Long Island National Cemetery (Pinelawn) Farmingdale, NY October 2, 2023
