I just heard about Vickie. And I am so sorry. I worked with her when I lived in Hawaii and loved her ... cause she was who she was and spoke her mind. May the memory of her bring happiness to all that knew her.

Aloha Vickie:  Reality is setting in and I'm missing you so very much.  Your friendship over the past 16 years is so precious to me, full of wonderful memories (working together at MFL and HVCB, our countless lunches with Kay) (our trip to Japan, our numerous neighbor island trips, our annual trips to the Merrie Monarch Festival, etc.), playing tourist and visiting many of the sites in Hawaii, and of course our Friday movie nights (back-to-back movies; sometimes even 3 movies) and our record movie weekends during your visits after I moved to Washington (with our final record of 9 movies in one weekend).  I wear the "God's Heart" bracelet that you gave me every day.  I'm missing our daily devotionals, e-mails and our phone calls.  My dear friend Vickie - Ke Akua pu a hui hou kakou (God be with you till we meet again). I'll see you in Heaven.  Forever your friend, Terry.

Vickie always made me laugh.  Whether she was serious or joking, you had to laugh. Once, she agreed to take a sign language class with me and a few friends.  Our teacher happened to be Deaf. Boy did that frustrate her. And I couldn't stop laughing when she said in her huffy voice "How the heck am I supposed to learn anything if I can't understand him?!?!?" I don't think she ever came back to class!  I love you Vickie!  I was blessed to have known you!  See you at home!

Vickie truly had a heart of gold - I will really miss her (although she would not believe that I was born in Brooklyn).  We here at Porter Tom Quitiquit Chee & Watts, LLP, will miss her warmth, wit and we will also miss her famous cheesecake, which like her, was so very special in every way.

Vickie, I will miss your wit. You are a class act. I will always remember  you and I having long talks when the staff were at the annual luncheon and we talked nonsense. Till we meet again.

I can’t begin to tell you how much our friendship over the past 19 years has meant to me.  You were a true friend in every sense of the word.  Of course, I will always be thankful for all the work you did for our law firm in managing the office and handling our financial matters.  You were a lifesaver.  But I would be less than honest if I didn’t tell you how much you made us all smile/laugh when you attended our firm’s Christmas party at the Japanese teahouse in Alewa Heights.  While everyone else took out their hashi (chopsticks), you reached into your purse and took out a fork!  I’ll never forget your words – “If I have to eat with those sticks, I’ll starve!”  Because of our mutual New York background (I from Manhattan aka The City and you from you know where), it was so nice to be able to speak with someone who could actually know what I was talking about when I said I attended P.S. 11, used to play stoop ball and Johnny Ride the Pony, liked eating liverwurst and knishes and drinking chocolate egg creams, and cooled off in the summer by sitting on a fire escape.  While you talked about it a lot, let me assure you that Junior’s had absolutely nothing on your cheesecake.  It was absolutely the best and I thank you for always making five of them for me every Christmas!  I will also never forget our time together in New York last year when we split a whole pizza at Grimaldi’s and then went to Broadway to see Jersey Boys.  And thank you for understanding why I like listening to Dion and the Belmonts and The Crests.  You’re with Joey now and looking down on and hopefully smiling at all of us.  Your spiritual journey has taken you to the place where we all hope to be one day.  One final thing.  Your name has been put on the Necrology List at my church, St. Clement’s.  So every All Saints Day in November, pay attention (I know, I sound like one of the nuns in Catholic school) because your name will be read out loud to the entire congregation during the communion service. Vickie, we will miss you. I went to St. Augustine's for mass on Monday morning. I kept the seat on my left  open for you -- as we sat for mass many times. Lit 3 candles for your safe journey to Heaven.  May God Bless You Always.

I just wanted everyone to know that as a young boy, Vickie influenced me immensly. Growing up on 11th Street in Brooklyn with my older two cousin, Vickie and Joey was great. I was probably the only two year old child who used to know Donovan's song Sunshine Superman. She shared so many life experiences with me and helped make me and my brothers into the men we became. Vickie was a great friend to my wife Karen and a fantastic Aunt to my children. She loved to spoil my children with anything they wanted. We finally made it out to Hawaii after a few failed attempts, but am so grateful that we finally did. She made our 25th wedding anniversary extra special for us. After being there, and seeing it for myself and meeting everyone she associated herself with there, I know why she chose to live her last days on earth there. She lived and died in paradise with an extended family beyond belief.
To Vickie, The pain and suffering are over, you gave it your best. You are with Nana, Popa, Tessie, Joey, my brother David and our dog Olivia too. It's a wonderful thought knowing of the company your are with now. 
Until we meet again, thank you for everything you have done for me.

Auntie, I always told you how much I appreciated you and Grandma Cookie for showing Megan and I places we probably would never get to. Coming to visit you in Hawaii was a perfect treat for us because I fell in love with it as soon as I landed and I decided one day I would live there with you, to keep you company. Well, I may not live there with you and there's a possibility now that I won't ever but it's still one of my dreams. Hopefully one day I can figure that out and then I'll be able to go to Anna Miller's on my own and order a Banana Pancake or go to the Ritz and argue with the pool people about the limited amount of chairs there. Whenever we came to visit you, you always let us chill out on the beach. But if you realized how many times we called you to hang out or came to visit you at work it was just because we wanted to take advantage of the time seeing you since it was only once a year. You were the first person to show me Panda Express and now I know why you loved it so much. All the movies we've seen together. From "that was my wife's favorite finger!" to "i'm a peacock you gotta let me fly!" and how could we ever forget Wedding Crashers, it was kind of awkward watching the nude parts with you but it was still a hilarious movie and I think of you when I watch it. I loved sitting on your Lanai or even seeing you when you lived in the room right next to me back in Staten Island. Now you're up there in heaven looking down on us and I'm happy to say that I have one of the best angels out there. You and Olivia. I know you're keeping her company up there and I'm sure you're having a blast. Just remember that I love you and give Olivia a hug for me and tell her I miss her every day. You were the best. I'll never forget you and you'll always have a place in my heart. I love you Aunt Vickie, until then I'll see you one day and we'll probably have a lot of catching up to do..but not yet. As David put it below, the perfect word for goodbye..Serpentine. Serp, serp, serp. <3

Our thoughts are with the family and friends during this time.

You were my first friend on 11th Street (you 10 years old and me 6 years old) when my parents opened the store next to your house.  It was winter and we played in the pile of snow in front of your house until we were frost bitten.  I remember that day as if it were yesterday.  We hung out in my house, the store, your stoop, your hall and walked the streets. Within a couple years and yes it was only a couple years we ventured to Coney Island. Two very young girls had fun walking on the Boardwalk, smoking cigarettes on the beach and riding the Himalaya while the Jackson 5 song, The Love You Save played over and over.  Our fun came to a screeching halt when we did not know how to get home, we were lost. I wanted to cry, but you being FOUR years older than I was, you the much more mature responsible, wiser, and needless to say manipulative one who “MADE” me a very young, very short, very homely looking little girl go up to a “policeman officer” and ask him for help, oh and I did I forget to say we did not have enough money to get home so you “MADE” me ask the “policeman” for money too. I did not know until many years later you were just as scared as I was that day. As the years went by we laughed about that day a million times.
Almost 50 years have passed since then, our teenage years, marriages, divorces, kids, gentlemen friends, and vacations have come and gone and although we may have grown apart at times our hearts were never very far apart whether there was a block or 6000 miles between us we always found our way back to each other. I wish we could do it all again, just one more time.
I love you, I miss you and my heart will have a gaping hole that only your smile can fill. Until I see your smile again my friend, my “Goulash”.

Aunt Vickie the memories that we have shared have been the best memories of my life. You taught me so much. I hope one day i can become half the person that you are. You took such good care of all of us and there will never be enough words to express how much i appreciate everything that you have ever done for me. im happy to say i have a beautiful angel watching over me in heaven. i love you and i will miss you <3 A hui hou kakou (till we meet again)

 I love you so much and always will. I really wish that you could be there at my confirmation as my sponsor, but it looks like you'll just have to watch over it from Heaven. I really miss you. Love you again.

I will always remember the great times we had with you: Playing Zelda, going to Friendly's ("Thank you so much!"), playing board games, and just hanging out and having fun. You were always such a generous person; you'd always remember us asking for something and you'd give it to us. We'll always remember the wonderful things you've done for us and we hope to see you again someday. Until then, serpentine!

I'm glad you are in God's Kingdom now; with all the pain and suffering gone. I am left with an emptiness; but know we shall one day meet again. Love you my lil sis - now and always!

There is really nothing that I can say that will make this better. You will be truly missed. There are so many great memories that we have.
