I’ll miss em.

It is hard to believe that my cousin Billy is gone at 57.  He had a larger than life personality, he was so big and so loud and he had a laugh that was unmistakable.  My best memories of Billy are playing brisk, typically after Sunday or holiday dinners at our grandparents. 
Billy was an amazing athelete.  How I wish we could play one more game of basketball at Avenue S Park. He was a dominant force and because I was his cousin and knew him to be a gentle (although super strong) Giant I would usually guard him and take quite a beating in the process.  When I was a freshman in college my roommate was the quarterback for our college team.  Billy threw a ball harder and further than him. Just so gifted!

Billy had his difficulties and I have a lot of sadness thinking of those. Hard not to cry about it, but its over now and he is in God's care. In my mind Billy and Sebie are together having a laugh up there and with their mom and grandparents.  
Billy recently told me that 'we had the best childhood ever.'  I am glad that I was a part of that for him and that he was a massive part of that for me. And I was so pleased that even with his difficulties he had all these wonderful years before all the pain and strife to hold onto.
I am grateful for the times he protected me from those who would bully me, the laughs, the silliness, the times at the arcade (he was the best Pac Man player ever--Dig Dug too), the holidays etc.  

I'll see you on the other side Bill--get the cards ready. Me and you vs Grandpa and Sebie.....

Billy RIP. So many memories.  All I hear is Hi G when I heard you passed away. Your voice was so strong and deep. He was hard worker. Now your joined with your mom and grandparent's and your brother.  I'm sure your all smiling together. RIP.
