Yasha was a very close friend of mine - we met over 60 years ago. He was a wonderful person - intelligent and creative, always caring and attentive. I miss him dearly and will cherish his memory always. Mila Chernyavskaya.

Please accept my most sincere condolences on the death of your spouse. We saw each other only once, but wrote to each other quite a lot. In my memory, Uncle Yasha will always be light-hearted, very kind and sincere person.

We will remember Yakov!  He was very smart, intellectual, kind person.  He loved his family, he loved his guests and had many friends.

We met Yasha over 20-years ago when we came to New York. He treated us like family, with so much love and care. Yasha was a very kind and cheerful person with a big loving heart. He was open, welcoming, charismatic and hospitable, he never forgot about anyone and remembered all the little things about people, knew how to make them feel special, and always took good care of all his family and friends. We miss him greatly and he will always be in our hearts. Our deepest sympathy to his wife Tanya and to all of his family.

Dadia Yasha was much more to me then anyone will ever know, he was a father to me (always available to help in anyway he can) and a  loving grand father to my children. He always found nice things to say about every situation and everyone he met. We will miss him very much.

   As often happened we are telling good think about people when is too late. 
We lost a good man – Yakov, uncle  Yasha, father of our best friend. I remember Yakov  for 45 years, always in good spirit, with smile. Even we were 16 years old kids,  he treated us as adults. He was on our wedding. 
  More than 25 years in America Yakov share with Tanya - wife, good friend, and interesting companion. Our deepest sympathy to all family.

I have known Yasha for almost 50 years (I called him uncle Yasha at the time) since Slavka and I befriended in 1964, when we became classmates. Moreover, I used to know his mother Revekka, who was literally my neighbour in Lvov and Slavik was residing with her during his years in technical school. I was meeting Yasha on different occasions, when Slava was meeting with him. He was attractive man, I'd say Georgian type, with soft manners and speech. Then I met him again, when I moved to USA in 1993. At this time he was in early retirement age, still very attractive and still soft and gentle. As far as I understand, he's never been pursuing big career or money, but was very family oriented. He was helping Slavke with work and kids. His wife Tanya has become his greatest friend and he was contributing a lot of time and attention into his second family too. He was the only person from this generation (in addition to my parents) who always remembered my birthday and never missed a chance to extend his wishes to me. He's become very ill over the past few years and finally freed himself, but I am sure, he will be in hearts of people who have known and loved him. Of course, it's a loss, but I prefer another word - transformation. I wish all of us to overcome this and cherish memory about Yasha.

I will forever cherish the memories of my Deda Yasha as a kind and happy man who was always smiling, and who wanted for nothing more than the happiness of those around him. His body may be gone from this world, but he will always be with me. I love you Deda, with all my heart. You were a better grandfather than I could have ever asked for.

Yasha came into our lives almost 30 years ago. I consider him my father and my children know him as their fun-loving grandfather. He was always loving, caring and understanding. He loved my sister and me like we were his own and made my mom feel happy, appreciated and loved. He will always be in our hearts.

was very happy. It was not easy, and only recently we've confessed to
loving eache other, but we've persevered. I am grief-stricken and lost
without you. You are always in my heart.

My grandfather always had fun and warmth in his heart. I will always keep his visits, his holding my hand on the first day of kindergarten, his mustachioed smile, in mine.  I will miss my grandfather deeply and always appreciate the memories he gave me.

We are deeply saddened by Yasha's death.  Yasha  will be remembered  as a man with a loving  heart, intelligent mind, and Jewish spirit.  He will be missed greatly.  May the memories of Yasha be a blessing.

One of the most selfless people I've had the pleasure of getting to know in my life. Always making sure everyone is having a good time no matter what, from his famous cranberry vodka to throwing a frisbee around in the hallway of the apartment building. Will keep you in our hearts, always - love you!

That's how I called him.

We have beautiful memories of "???? ???". We remember his passion for travelling and sharing travelling stories and pictures. We remember that he taped latest TV serials and movies, and we watched them here in NJ. It was very caring that he wanted to share good things with all of us.
