

Andrew Robb Stacy, age 90, of Brooksville, Florida died on Sunday July 27, 2014 at the Heartland of Brooksville Nursing Home. Andrew was a 13 year resident of Brooksville coming from Brattleboro, VT. Born on April 24, 1924 in Greenfield, MA. to the late Harrison & Blanche (Stanclift) Stacy. Andrew went to school in West Northfield and was a 1942 graduate of Northfield High School. Shortly thereafter he entered the military service. A veteran of WWII in the US Army Air Corp reaching the rank of T-SGT, as a tail gunner and he had 31 missions over Europe, discharged in December 1945, and was awarded the EAME Ribbon with 3 bronze stars, the Air Medal and a Distinguished Flying Cross. Andrew worked for R.S. Roberts Garage as an automotive mechanic for 12 years and the Deerfield Academy for 18 years, as a Supervisor of Maintenance. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Blanche Stacy, wife of 52 years, Dorrine Stacy, Son, William Stacy, brother Gilbert Stacy, sister, Phoebe Henry. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Anita B. Stacy of Brooksville, FL., daughter Rita Mudd, and husband Ed, of Vernon, VT, Step-sons, Michael Doucette and wife Karen of Marietta, Ga., Lee Doucette, and Timothy Doucette, both of Brooksville, Fl., and brother David Stacy and his wife, Vivian, of Austell, GA. Also by his 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Andrew was a member of the Brattleboro, VT American Legion Post #5, and VFW Post # 1034. As well as the B.P.O.E. – Elks, of Greenfield, MA. Regularly he attended both St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church, Brooksville, FL., and Fellowship Community Church in Spring Hill, FL. A memorial gathering and service will follow at the Southway Villa MHP Club house; in Brooksville, FL., on Saturday, August 2, 2014 with gathering from 2-4 PM, and a Memorial service during the afternoon with Rev. Jim of the Fellowship Community Church Officiating. Andrew will have a Memorial Service at the Ker, Westerland, Fleming Funeral Home, 39 High Street, Brattleboro, VT., on Saturday August 16, 2014, at 11:00 AM. Rev Burk will officiate at the services. The Military Honors will follow at the West Northfield Cemetery, in Northfield, MA directly following, where he will be joining all his friends.
