Charles Jackson (Jack) Adams

Charles Jackson (Jack) Adams age 89 of Brooksville, FL., died on Sunday, February 8, 2015 in Spring Hill. He was born in Indianapolis, IN. to the late Charles Walter and Gladys Sabra Pierson Adams, on December 8, 1925. He married Ialene Sturk on May 28, 1948 in Indianapolis. Jack was a graduate of Broadripple High School, Indianapolis, IN., and attended Frankfort Pilgrim College, Frankfort, IN. He graduated from Anderson College, Anderson, IN. with an AB degree; graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary with an MDiv degree; graduated from Eastern Michigan University with an EDS degree; and graduated from Indiana University with a doctorate in education, EdD. Jack pastored for about 25 years in Michigan, Indiana, and Maryland. He was then involved in higher education serving for about 25 years at Indiana Wesleyan University. (Marion College), Southern Wesleyan University; John Wesley College and Wesley Theological Seminary. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Gladys Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ialene, his daughter, Evangeline Adams, of Greensboro, NC. and son, John Adams, of Sacramento, CA. Jack was blessed to have 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Jack is also survived by his siblings: Ruthanne Emery, David Adams and John Adams. A memorial gathering will be held from 10 – 11 am on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Brooksville Wesleyan Church, in Brooksville, FL. The Memorial Service will be led by Dr. Marlin Mull with a special obituary and benediction by Dr. Jerry Pence, of the Brooksville Wesleyan Church with a vocal solo by Arlene Manting. Friends will continue fellowship after the service at the church cafe. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Brooksville Wesleyan Church.
