It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claude Patry on January 27, 2025, at the age of 87. Claude was born on September 16, 1937 in Rouyn Noranda to Hector and Mildred (nee Caza) Patry.
Preceded in death by parents and sibling Yvan, he is survived by his younger brother, Pierre (Clayre) and sister, Enid.
Claude is also survived by his wife Isobel Whelan, the love of his life. They met at a young age and they spent a wonderful 68 married years together. He will be greatly missed by their three children: Elaine (Thomas), Dennis (Kathy), and Lynne (Greg), and grandchildren: Aimee (Stelios), Stephanie (Eric), Bryan (Renee), Sean (Lindsy), and Chris (Melanie). Claude did get to enjoy his many great grandchildren and they will get to know him more through many stories and photographs in our collection. All of his friends and family will remember his quick wit and sense of humour.
Claude began his work life in the mines of Goldfields and Chibougamau, and then his construction career took off after the move to Montreal in the 1960’s.
Before and after retirement in 1994, Claude enjoyed building memories in new places, with second residences in Florida, and Willsboro, New York, and his great passion was spending time on his boat with family and friends on Lake Champlain.
Special thanks and appreciation to the Emergency and 4th Floor Staff at the Lachine Hospital for the special care and attention over the past month.
In lieu of flowers, we ask you to honour Claude’s memory with a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society.
Visitation will be held at La Maison Darche, 7679 boul Taschereau, in Brossard, on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 1:00 – 4:00.
