October 31, 2023, Nicholas ROUSSAKIS, 73, of Brossard, QC, passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side. Late that afternoon, he ran into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. What a sweet reunion with his mom, dad, and brother we imagine it to be!
Nicholas, the youngest of four children was born on December 15, 1949, to Stergios and Eleni Roussakis in Thessaloniki, Greece. He was 17 when he left his home and moved from Thessaloniki to Montreal, Quebec, Canada to start a new life. Always hard working and full of life and energy, he would work nights while attending Concordia University in the daytime, where he met the love of his life, Elly (Elham) Elissa. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Commerce in 1976. Nicholas and Elly married in 1975 and resided in Brossard, Quebec where they had their three girls: Elena, Melissa and Nadia.
Nick began having heart issues in his late 30s. After surprising the medical community time and time again, God determined it was time for him to finally be at rest, no longer needing to fight the effects of sickness and pain. A Bible verse that he would often recite in those last months is Psalm 27:1 “The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid?”
Nicholas was predeceased by father Stergios Roussakis, his mother Eleni Roussakis (nee Makis), and his brother Tassos Roussakis.
Nicholas is survived by wife Elham Roussakis (nee Elissa), children Elena (husband Amar Muni), Melissa (husband Brad Mellette), and Nadia (husband Philippe Bourque), and is also survived by his 11 grandchildren: Sofia Muni, Thomas Muni, Maia Muni, Lucas Mellette, Lauren Mellette, Amelia Mellette, Nicholas Mellette, Rebekah Bourque, Leah Bourque, Emily Bourque, and Victoria Bourque.
He leaves his surviving sisters Maria Akalestos and Soula Hatzilazarou.
We vouch without hesitation that Nick has received the greeting from the Lord “Well done my good and faithful servant” as he entered his eternal home and rest. We love you Babaki. We will see you soon.
