Obituary of Saleh Tewfik Saleh
IN THE CARE OF

La Maison Darche Services funéraires

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Saleh Tewfik Saleh, 95, of Brossard, Quebec on Monday, October 7, 2019. Surrounded by a family he loved dearly, he peacefully passed on to his next adventure.

Born on June 2, 1924 in Cairo, Egypt, Saleh’s adventurous spirit took him to Montreal, QC, Edmonton, AB, Bermuda and the British Virgin Islands. A lawyer by profession, he was well-respected for his thoughtful and critical analysis of the law. He was considered an expert in the area of insurance and mutual fund law.

Saleh devoted much of his time and effort to his family. Family was his pride and joy. He loved to plan and take his family on vacations exploring new areas, weekend picnics and barbeques, and have long chats about life, religion and the human spirit. Saleh was an exceptional storyteller, sharing his escapades as a child, and history about his family. His stories captivated his family and kept them laughing. As a father he made his family feel safe and loved, and was always there if they needed him. Saleh was the standard for a life well lived.

Saleh is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Gladys (Habash) Saleh, along with his three adored children, son Tewfik (Suzanne), and daughters Nevine (Robert) and Moyra (Fred), and eight grandchildren Louis-Philippe (Elysia), Dr. Olivier (Emily), Frédéric (Gabriela) and Annie Saleh; Kathryn and Stephen Booth; and Philip and Julia Azouz. He also leaves behind his two great-grandchildren Liam and Leara Saleh, who brought him much joy later in his life. He will be missed by his loving brother Wafaii (Cecile) of Egypt, his nephews Nabil and Dr. Mounir Hanna, Hani Antoun and Karam Naguib; his nieces Marie-Lise and Chadia Antoun; his brothers-in-law Michel and Gabriel Habash; and sisters-in-law Jacqueline Kassatly, Renée Zananiri, Denise Quzor, Liliane Akra and Mona Quzor.

Visitation will be held at Virgin Mary Coptic Orthodox Church 6100 Grande Allée, St. Hubert, Québec from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on October 21. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at Cimetière St. Maxime, 3590 Sir Wilfrid Laurier Boul., St. Hubert, Québec.

Donations to Virgin Mary Coptic Orthodox Church would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
