Alberto Gomez was a good husband, a good father, and a good grandfather. All of those who knew him would agree that he was an overall good man. He was a man of service. He served his country in the United States Air Force, he served his family and took care of his grandchildren, and he served his community by helping people in need, whether it be financially or giving of his time.
Alberto is survived by his son Alberto Gomez Jr. (Anna D.H. Gomez); daughter Nora G. Lopez (Jose Z. Lopez III); sister Ofelia Ramirez; grandson Jaime Eguia Jr., grandson Santiago Alberto Gomez and granddaughter Isabella Oralia Gomez (Mario M. Contreras).
Alberto was preceded in death by his wife Oralia V. Gomez†; mother Isabel Gomez † and father Jose Gomez †; brother Jesus Gomez †; sister Alicia Deanda †; sister Oralia Treviño † and sister Minerva Peña †; grandson Adrian Eguia †.
A visitation for Alberto will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 3PM to 9PM with a prayer service at 7PM in chapel of angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1200 Lincoln St, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial at 11:00 AM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78526.
Serving as pallbearers are Alberto Gomez Jr., Jaime Eguia Jr., Santiago Alberto Gomez, Jose Z. Lopez III, Mario M. Contreras and Manuel Vasquez III.
