Alice. I'll miss our phone calls and texts. You were a wonderful person and I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet you. I wish there was more time for you to enjoy, but at least now you are no longer suffering or in pain. As your loved one mourn your loss, may they find piece in a poem I love. It's called "Gone From My Sight" by Henry VanDyke. Until we meet again my friend.

I met Alicia in April 2008. I was transferred from the Social Security Office in Brownsville to Harlingen. She friended me right away. We sat right next to each other. She would tell me "I could be your mother." That's exactly what happened; she became like a second mother. We went to lunch together everyday; went to places like Chick-Fil-A and Luby’s. She loved Green Chili Chicken soup with corn bread; let’s not forget dessert. She loved it when I would bake; especially my famous brownies.
She loved music; I would have her listen to my corridos and King George. She was a very dedicated employee no one else like her; ultimately a better friend. I love her like my second mom.
She was always taking care of me and my kids. Alicia is and will forever be in my heart. ❤️
