To the family and friends of Angel Tolentino,

Angel was more than a valued member of our Hillwood team; he was a cherished friend and a true inspiration to everyone who had the pleasure of working with him. His dedication to his work was evident in everything he did, tackling every task, no matter how big or small, with unwavering commitment and a level of care that set a high standard for us all. His work ethic was matched only by his kindness; Angel was always the first to offer a helping hand or an encouraging word to anyone who needed it.

But what we’ll miss most is Angel’s warm and genuine smile. It was a smile that could brighten even the toughest days and made everyone around him feel welcome and appreciated. Angel had a gift for lifting spirits, and his presence brought a sense of warmth and positivity to our team that words cannot fully capture. He had a way of connecting with everyone, making each person feel valued and seen.

We were deeply honored to be part of Angel’s service at the funeral, standing alongside his family and friends as we celebrated his life. Though our hearts ache with his loss, we find comfort in knowing we had the privilege to work with someone as remarkable as Angel. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and warmth will forever be a part of Hillwood, and we will carry his memory with us in everything we do.

To his family and friends, please know that Angel will always hold a special place in our hearts. We share in your grief and hope you find comfort in knowing how deeply loved and respected he was by all of us. We will you brother. Semper Fidelis.

Angel had volunteered to be the scroll reader during the Marine corps ball in Erbil. I was conducting and organizing the ceremony, a lot because people wanted to downgrade the ceremony. He added more dynamic and enthusiasm, I couldn’t had appreciate him enough.

Angel was never above or below but always beside you. He’d be the one striking up a conversation in the midnight kitchen doing meal preps. The one who could sympathize without saying a word. The same guy that would carry the heaviest load during drills. The one doing college classes across the table. The one acing in beach volley ball that could spike the ball the most to score for the team. cover you during drills when the tasks get heavy. The one marine that kept his cool under high pressure carrying the detachment. during passing times when the det cmdr was absent and others were rotating. He was the one Marine who was always beside you no matter what, both in serious and funny times. The hero without the cape, the friend you never deserved, the leader who lead by example.

Angel was never above or below anyone; he was always beside you. He was the one striking up a conversation during late-night kitchen sessions, preparing meals with quiet camaraderie. He could empathize deeply without uttering a single word. 

Angel was the teammate carrying the heaviest load during training. He was the scholar across the table tackling college with you. He was the ace you would want in your volleyball team. 

In the midst of drills, when burdens seemed too heavy, Angel was there, covering for you, ensuring the team moved forward. He was the calm in the storm, leading the detachment with poise and courage, especially when leadership was most needed.

He was our hero without a cape, the friend we felt we never quite deserved, and the leader who inspired by example. Angel walked through life beside us, sharing in both our laughter and our trials. His presence was a constant reminder of what true companionship looks like.

As we say goodbye, we remember Angel not just for what he did, but for who he was—a true comrade, a steadfast friend, and an exemplary Marine. His spirit continues to march beside us, forever in our hearts.

Even after climbing hundreds of stairs your smile still prevailed, and kept the rest of us going.

This is the first time we said goodbye to you brother. We never thought we would have to say goodbye again.

T was the person to make you work for anything, he’s the one to push a person to do their very best. 
He’s was and will always be one of my best friends.

From taking trips or just hanging out T was always a smiling face around. He would cheer up the room just being there.
