Beatriz will be remembered as a beautiful soul that loved God and mother mary. She loved to pray, her rosaries and attend mass at St Eugene Catholic Church. As the oldest of four siblings she became a mother to them when she lost her mother at age 12. She was an amazing mother to her four children. She was an excellent grandmother to her 9 grandchildren. She was also an exceptional great-grandmother to her 19 great grandchildren.
Beatriz enjoyed working in her garden and she loved her flowers. She enjoyed playing loteria and going to the pulga. She loved going to family gatherings, weddings, birthday parties, etc... She also enjoyed going shopping and going out to eat. She loved to cook and she made the best gorditas.
Beatriz is survived by her daughter Amelia Losoya (Jose); son Arturo Martinez (Graciela); and son Arnoldo Martinez (Layla); sister Vicenta R. Gallardo and sister Guillermina Rivera Herrera; grandchild Moses Losoya, grandchild Joe Daniel Losoya, grandchild Michelle Losoya-Chavez, grandchild Joshua Losoya, grandchild Amy Losoya, grandchild Elijah Losoya, grandchild Zachary Nerio, grandchild Tiffany N. Reyes and grandchild Isis Nicole Martinez.
Beatriz was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas B. Martinez†; daughter Maria Elena Nerio†; mother Teresa Herrera† and father Pedro Rivera†; brother Leopoldo Rivera† and brother Francisco Rivera†.
She is survived by 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Beatriz will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM with a rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista & Buena Vista Burial Park, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St Eugene de Mazenod, 5409 Austin Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial of ashes on June, 23, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, Texas 78526.
Serving as pallbearers are Moses Losoya, Joe D. Losoya, Joshua Losoya, Elijah Losoya, Zachary Nerio and Isaiah Losoya.
