Bertha C. Lopez-Martinez

Bertha had a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in counseling. She was also certified massage therapist. She worked at Porter High School in Brownsville TX. for her entire career as a Mariachi Estudiantina director and as a counselor. She was a beautiful loving mother, wife, aunt, sister, teacher, and counselor.

Bertha is survived by her husband, Orlando Lopez; her daughter Elizabeth A. Lopez; and her son Matthew Isaiah Lopez; her mother Maria Vera; her brothers Joe Martinez Brother and Armando Martinez.

Bertha was preceded in death by her father Fidel Martinez † and her grandmother Rosa Garcia Vera †.

A visitation for Bertha will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at St Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will held Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St Mary's Catholic Church.

Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Isaiah Lopez , Christian Isaac Martinez, Daniel Steven Martin, Jorge Varela, Pete-Justin Silverio and Gonzalo Hernandez III.
