Dominga Salazar, 77, passed away on June 8, 2026. Born April 10, 1949, Dominga was a longtime resident of Brownsville, Texas. Her life was marked by steady devotion to faith and family, and by the quiet strength found in daily acts of care and tradition.
Dominga was devoted to her church, carrying that commitment with dignity and constancy. She also found joy in the comforts and creativity of home—especially in cooking tortillas de harina, a beloved expression of love that gathered others close. Dominga’s appreciation for fashion and shopping reflected an eye for detail and a graceful pride in presenting herself well.
Dominga was preceded in death by her husband, Anselmo Salazar and her sister, Hermelinda Guajardo.
She is survived by her brothers, Elias Tabarez, Rene, and Ernesto; her sisters, Olivia Canales, Alicia Serrata and Sosie Tabarez; her daughter, Margarita Salazar; her son, Anselmo Salazar Jr.; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn, on June 11, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Talk at 6:00 pm. A Talk will be held again on June 12, 2026, at 10:00 am followed by a Burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am.
