It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jose Eduardo “Eddie” Galvan, who departed this life at the age of 65. Born in Brownsville, Texas, Eddie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle whose warmth, strength, and dedication to his family will never be forgotten.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Maria Elena Galvan and Antonio Galvan Jr. whose memory he carried with him throughout his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Norma A. Galvan, and their loving children: Michael Galvan (Amanda), April Garcia (Rafael), and Magan Guzman (Victor). He is also survived by his siblings, Deborah Ramirez, Esteban Galvan and Marcos Galvan, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply and who will forever cherish his memory. Eddie’s pride and joy were his grandchildren: Luke Edward Galvan, Victor Adolfo Guzman III, and Leonel Andres Garcia, who brought him endless happiness and light.
Eddie proudly retired from Pep Boys after 36 years of dedicated service. Known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit, he built lasting relationships with coworkers and customers alike. Outside of work, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time at the beach with his wife, where he felt most at peace —often relaxing with music in the background. He was also a lifelong and loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, rarely missing a game and always cheering them on with pride.
Eddie’s life was filled with energy, laughter, and an unforgettable sense of humor that could brighten any room. His ability to make others smile and feel welcome was one of his greatest gifts. His legacy lives on through the family he so dearly loved and the joyful memories he leaves behind.
He will be remembered always and missed beyond measure.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are:
Rafael Garcia, Victor Guzman Jr., Alfredo Alaniz Jr., Nathaniel Dominguez, Oscar Almaraz and Estanislao Almaraz III.
To honor Eddie’s vibrant spirit, the family kindly requests that guests join us in a celebration of life and avoid wearing black. Please wear colors that reflect joy and warmth, just as he did every day or your favorite Dallas Cowboy attire.
