Eduardo Rendon

Captain Eduardo (Eddie) Rendon, 70, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.

Eduardo Rendon was born August 01, 1940 in Brownsville, Texas. He dedicated his adult life working at the Port of Brownsville for 35 years. He served as Port Commissioner from 2000 to 2004. He enjoyed spending time surrounded by his family and friends. All those who knew him, especially his grandchildren, knew he was a hard working and dedicated man.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo Rendon Sr. and Felicitas Fernandez Rendon, his son, Marco Antonio Rendon, his sister Teresa Morton and his daughter in law, San Juanita Rendon.

Left behind to eternally treasure his memory is the love of his life, his devoted wife of 49 years, Elsa G. Garza Rendon; his children, Eduardo (Esmeralda) Rendon, Norma (Ruben) P. Guerra, Mary Alice (Sergio) Soto, George (Mary) Rendon, Rafael (San Juanita+) Rendon, Veronica (Eddie) Montes; his sisters, Maria de Socorro Palafox, Norma Delia (Fernando) Naranjo and Maricela (Sal) Espejo; 16 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10am to 9pm with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista on Thursday, July 28, 2011.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church with interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park on Friday, July 29, 2011.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jorge Luis Rendon, Eduardo Rendon IV, Jeremy Rendon, Rafael Rendon, Cristian Soto, Eduardo Montes, Ruben Guerra and Sergio Soto.
