

With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Elodia V. Moreno, who entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family who passed on July 5, 2026. Her unwavering faith, kind heart, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Elodia found happiness in life’s simple blessings. She cherished spending time in her garden, lovingly caring for her flowers and plants, where she found peace and joy. Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her life, and she devoted countless hours to prayer, trusting Him through every season. She was also an enthusiastic sports fan who never missed the opportunity to cheer on her favorite teams, especially the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Astros, and the Indiana Fever. Whether tending her garden, praying for those she loved, or enjoying a game, Elodia lived a life filled with faith, love, and gratitude. Her joyful presence, compassionate heart, and quiet strength will be forever cherished and deeply missed.
Elodia is survived by her beloved brother, Luis Valdez; her children, Alicia Gomez, Richard Bautista, Joe Bautista, Sylvia Hernandez, Albert Moreno, Frank Moreno, Marylou Sandoval, Gracie Moreno, and Janie Moreno.She also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will continue to honor her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francisco A. Moreno; her parents, Jose and Hipolita Valdez; her brothers, Jose, Enrique, Alfredo, Edmidio, and Juan Valdez; and her sisters, Dolores Valdez, Maria del Carmen V. Ayala, Jacoba V. Shepherd, and Maria Guadalupe “Lupita” V. Leal
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, Elodia’s legacy of unwavering faith, unconditional love, and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in the eternal peace of our Lord, reunited with those who welcomed her into Heaven.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, US, on July 15, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a rosary at the same location on July 15, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Religious Ceremony will take place at Good Shepherd Church, 2645 Tulipan St, Brownsville, TX 78521 on July 16, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Committal Service at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX 785269618, US, on July 16, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
