Eloy Valles, a devoted father, and lifelong connoisseur of marine life, passed away on July 25, 2025, in Brownsville, Texas. He was born on June 15, 1936, a lifelong resident of Brownsville and lived a life deeply connected to the sea and his family.
Eloy’s passion for the ocean shaped much of his life’s work. As a captain of shrimp boats for more than 45 years, he spent countless days navigating the waters he loved. His deep knowledge of marine life and unwavering dedication to his craft earned him respect among peers and those who worked alongside him. The sea was not just his livelihood -it was his calling.
Beyond his maritime pursuits, Eloy was a supportive father whose legacy lives on through his children: daughters Rosa Isela Flores (Simon Flores), Hilda Leticia Garcia(Gaston Garcia +deceased), Martha Elva Gonzalez (Mario Gonzalez), Joanna M. Granado (Eduardo Granado), Miriam Valles, and Claudia Elizabeth Anaya(Ever Anaya); and sons Arturo Valles (Norma Camargo), Eloy Valles II, and Efrain Valles (Evanjelina). His love, guidance, and support were constants in their lives.
He also leaves behind a large and loving group of grandchildren who carry forward his memory: Jesus Edgar Flores, Vianeth Flores, Adriana Flores, Simon Flores Jr., Arturo Valles, Alberto Valles, Perla Angeles, Citlali Hernandez, Jackie Huerta, Nancy E. Fernandez, Gaston Garcia Jr., Marcus A. Garcia, David Gonzalez, Karina and Kayla Granado, Josefina, Jocelyn, Fabian, Cassandra, Sheila, and Sebastian Valles, Michael Spratt, Douglas, Kodey, and Miranda Thornton, Brandon and Bryan Anaya, for a total of 28 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Eloy is preceded in death by his beloved wife Josefina Valles and grandson Mario Gonzalez II. Their memories remain cherished by all who knew and loved them.

Church Service: Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 10:00am followed by burial service at Buena Vista at 11:00am.
