Felix Lerma Sr.

Felix Lerma Caballero, conocido como “El Chacho Lerma” por sus amigos y familiares, y “Papi” por sus nietos, falleció el 2 de enero de 2026, a la edad de 78 años, en Beaumont, Texas, rodeado de sus seres queridos.

Felix, hijo de Felix Lerma Amaro y Maria Caballero Vasquez, nació el 25 de junio de 1947 en Matamoros, Tamaulipas, y pasó su niñez en El Rancho Chapeño, un lugar que forjó su carácter fuerte y su ética de trabajo. Más adelante estableció su hogar en Texas, donde continuó construyendo una vida basada en el servicio y la dedicación hacia los demás.

Felix fue un hombre alegre, seguro de sí mismo, inteligente y bien leído, conocido por su buen humor, su compasión y su confiabilidad. Fue amoroso, servicial y con un gran conocimiento en muchos temas. Hombre de muchos oficios, Felix fue alguien en quien todos sabían que podían contar con su apoyo, ya fuera para reparar un auto, algún problema en el hogar, o simplemente brindar un consejo. Félix fue un verdadero proveedor, siempre asegurándose de que su familia estuviera bien.

Por encima de todo, Felix fue un padre dedicado y un abuelo muy presente. Sus hijos y nietos fueron su mayor orgullo y alegría, y a quienes amó profundamente y apoyó incondicionalmente.

Tuvo un espíritu alegre ya que le encantaba viajar, cantar, y bailar al ritmo de la música norteña— las redovas siendo sus favoritas. Por las mañanas se le escuchaba silbar alegremente, siempre llenando los espacios de risa y alegría con su presencia y buen humor.

Le sobreviven sus hijos Felix, Daniel, Claudia, Adriana y Juan Carlos; 14 nietos; 2 bisnietas; sus 2 hermanas Graciela y Maria de la Luz; así como muchos otros familiares y amigos que atesoran su memoria por siempre.

Felix será profundamente extrañado, pero su espíritu alegre continuará viviendo en el corazón de todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

Se bautizó como Testigo de Jehová en septiembre de 1980 y sabía que tenía una hermosa esperanza…….. (empieza discurso bíblico)

La visita se llevará a cabo en la Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, ubicada en 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, el 11 de enero de 2026, desde las 12:00 pm hasta las 12:00 am del día siguiente.

Felix Lerma Caballero, known as “El Chacho Lerma” to his friends and family, and “Papi” to his grandchildren, passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 78, in Beaumont, Texas, surrounded by his loved ones.

Felix, the son of Felix Lerma Amaro and Maria Caballero Vasquez, was born on June 25, 1947, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, and spent his childhood in El Rancho Chapeño, a place that shaped his strong character and work ethic. He later made his home in Texas, where he continued to build a life based on service and dedication to others.

Felix was a cheerful, confident, intelligent, and well-read man, known for his good humor, compassion, and reliability. He was loving, helpful, and knowledgeable on many subjects. A man of many talents, Felix was someone everyone knew they could count on for support, whether it was fixing a car, helping with a household problem, or simply offering advice. Felix was a true provider, always ensuring his family was well taken care of.

Above all, Felix was a devoted father and a very present grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy, and he loved and supported them unconditionally.

He had a joyful spirit and loved to travel, sing, and dance to Norteño music—the polka being his favorite. In the mornings, he could be heard whistling cheerfully, always filling the room with laughter and joy with his presence and good humor.

He is survived by his children Felix, Daniel, Claudia, Adriana, and Juan Carlos; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Graciela and Maria de la Luz; as well as many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory forever.

Felix will be deeply missed, but his joyful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The visitation will take place at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, located at 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, on January 11, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:00 am the following day.

Additionally, a service will be held at the same location on January 11, 2026, at 5:00 pm. For those unable to attend in person, there will be a live stream via Zoom. The details to access the event are as follows:
