Florestella “Pollito” Garcia, was a loving daughter, sister, aunt & friend. Tia Pollo, la mamá de todos los pollitos. Although she had no children of her own, she was a maternal figure to many of her nieces and nephews. She was employed by the Brownsville Coffee Shop #1 for over 30 years and was loved by all the customers. Those who knew her will remember her for her love of bingo, lotería, maquinitas and her great taste in spanish music. She lived a loving life and left beautiful memories that everyone will forever cherish.
Florestella is survived by her siblings: Rosalinda (Tino) Paredes, Adela (Andy) Alviar, Hilda (Andres) Carrizales, Roberto (Linda) Garcia, David (Marisela) Garcia, Leticia (Bob Cribb) Garcia, Cristela Garcia, Sylvia Haynes, Michael (Balde) Barbosa, her brother in law Mario Arcos, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother: Nieves Barbosa †; her mother: Elisa B. Garcia †; her father Felix Garcia †; her uncle Jose Barbosa Sr. †; her siblings: Maria Blanca Arcos † and Felix Garcia †.
A visitation for Florestella will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a Rosary at 7 pm in Chapel of Peace, at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will occur Monday, June 10, 2024 at 12:00 PM in Chapel of Peace, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A burial will occur Monday, June 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Arturo Garcia, Robert Alviar, David Estrada, Mark Garcia, David Garcia, Gilbert Garcia and Jesus Garcia.
