Gonzalo Chavez, 47, passed away on January 27, 2026. Born February 9, 1978, Gonzalo will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who knew him. A resident of Brownsville, Texas, he lived with a steady presence that was felt most clearly in the ways he showed up for family and in the simple, meaningful routines that made a life well lived.

Gonzalo found genuine satisfaction in hands-on work and time spent doing what he enjoyed. Whether grilling and cooking, fishing, driving, or taking on mechanic work, he carried a practical spirit and a quiet pride in doing things carefully and well. These interests reflected a grounded nature—one that valued effort, patience, and the comfort of providing for others through skill and care.

Gonzalo is survived by his father, Oscar Chavez Jr.; his mother, Catalina Chavez; his daughter, Melissa Chavez Castillo; his sons, Gonzalo Chavez Jr. and Nathan Chavez; his sisters, Sandra Chavez Puente, Susana Chavez Aguilar, and Maria Chavez; and his brother, Eduardo Chavez.

Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526, on June 7, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will follow at the same location on June 7, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Chapel Service will take place at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn on June 8, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX 78526, on June 8, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Gonzalo Chávez, de 47 años, falleció el 27 de enero de 2026. Nacido el 9 de febrero de 1978, Gonzalo será recordado con profundo respeto y cariño duradero por todos quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

Residente de Brownsville, Texas, vivió con una presencia serena y constante, reflejada principalmente en la manera en que estuvo presente para su familia y en las sencillas pero significativas rutinas que conformaron una vida bien vivida.

Gonzalo encontraba una satisfacción genuina en el trabajo práctico y en dedicar tiempo a las actividades que disfrutaba. Ya fuera asando y cocinando, pescando, conduciendo o realizando trabajos de mecánica, demostraba un espíritu trabajador y un orgullo discreto por hacer las cosas con esmero y dedicación. Estos intereses reflejaban una naturaleza sencilla y firme, que valoraba el esfuerzo, la paciencia y la satisfacción de brindar apoyo a los demás mediante sus habilidades y cuidado.

Le sobreviven su padre, Oscar Chávez Jr.; su madre, Catalina Chávez; su hija, Melissa Chávez Castillo; sus hijos, Gonzalo Chávez Jr. y Nathan Chávez; sus hermanas, Sandra Chávez Puente, Susana Chávez Aguilar y María Chávez; así como su hermano, Eduardo Chávez.

La velación se llevará a cabo en Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn, ubicada en 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526, el 7 de junio de 2026, de 12:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. El Rosario se celebrará en el mismo lugar el 7 de junio de 2026, de 7:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m.

El Servicio de Capilla tendrá lugar en Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn el 8 de junio de 2026, de 10:00 a.m. a 10:30 a.m. Posteriormente, el sepelio se realizará en Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX 78526, el 8 de junio de 2026, de 11:00 a.m. a 12:00 p.m.
