Herminia Orta passed away surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Herminia’s presence brought warmth, creativity, and joy to all who knew her.
She shared a beautiful marriage of over 50 years, a partnership rooted in love, respect, and unwavering commitment. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent together—whether gathered around the table, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other’s company.
Herminia had a deep love for music, often filling her home with melodies that reflected her vibrant spirit. She found peace and fulfillment in gardening, nurturing life with patience and care. Her talents extended to sewing, cooking, and interior decoration, where her creativity shone through in everything she touched. She also enjoyed shopping, not just for herself but as a way to find thoughtful gifts for those she loved.
A natural teacher, Herminia took great pride in passing down her knowledge—whether it was a treasured family recipe or a skill learned over years of experience. Her guidance and wisdom will live on through the many lives she touched.
Herminia was truly loved and cherished by all who knew her. Her kindness, strength, and enduring love leave a legacy that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
Herminia is survived by her husband, Armando Orta; her children, Amanda Tijerina, Armando Orta Jr., Graciela Araceli Knolls, Angelica Orta, Adan Orta, and Grisela Orta; her siblings, Luis Sanchez, Oralia Olivares, Martha Sanchez, Celestina Sanchez, Fernando Sanchez, Frank Sanchez, and Javier Gonzalez; and she is loved by her aunts, cousins, friends and grandchildren.
Herminia was preceded in death by her mother, Epifania Trevino †; her father, Francisco Sanchez †; her son, Aaron Orta †; and her brother, Daniel Sanchez †.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521, on April 23, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
