Herminia Saldivar, 85, was born July 25, 1940, and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on May 14, 2026. A resident of Brownsville, Texas, Herminia will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude for a life marked by steady devotion to family, community, and faith.
Herminia dedicated 26 years of service to the Cameron County Clerk’s Office, where her commitment and reliability reflected a quiet strength and enduring sense of responsibility. Beyond her work, she found joy in simple, life-giving pleasures—especially gardening and dancing—and her beautiful smile remains a lasting image in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Herminia is survived by her children, Ricardo Saldivar (Teresa), Sylvia Rivas, Jaime Saldivar (Elia), Diana Arce, Lisa Masso, and Gerald Saldivar. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters Raul Martinez, Rene Martinez, Becky Trevino (Azael), Nellie Cavazos (Joe), Dalia Villarreal, and Rose Alison (Matt).
She leaves behind grandchildren Rachel Johnson (Kevin), Samantha Saldivar, Carissa Rivas (Tony), Michael Rivas, Adam Hebert, Alex Saldivar, Mandy Barron, Lexy Arce, Jacob Arce, Jackie Portes (Jose), and Marco Saldivar, along with 10 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, US, on May 19, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be held there on May 19, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1055 Military Rd, Brownsville, TX 78520, on May 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, on May 20, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
