Hilario Ramirez immigrated to the U.S. in 1955. He married his loving wife, Josefa in 1957. He relocated his wife and children to the U.S. in 1966 and all have lived in Brownsville since.
Mr. Ramirez was a hardworking man. He worked in construction and owned a tortilleria, but he was best known as the man who sold oranges and watermelons. He sold two watermelons and gave away four or five, but he was happiest when he sat under that tree selling and strumming his guitar. Many would come just to listen to him sing.
Mr. Ramirez was a loving father. He was kind, honest, and very dedicated to his family. He had many friends. He talked to anyone standing next to him. He was always happy and ready to lend a helping hand.
Mr. Ramirez was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.
