Irma Paredes Gomez

She was born March 30, 1939 to Andres Sr. and Rebecca Paredes and lived in Brownsville all her life.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother Andres Paredes, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Joanna Martinez.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years of marriage Alfonso Gomez, Sr.; her sons, Alfonso, Jr. (Norma), Eli Gomez and Rodney (Georgina) Gomez; her daughters, Norma (Freddy) Cardenas, Beatriz (Alfredo) Pulido, Belinda Gomez and Susan Gomez (Enrique); her grandchildren Alfonso III, and Alex Gomez, Rebecca and Victoria Cardenas, Jennifer, Sandy and Emily Pulido, Manuel and Antonio Gomez, Tabitha and Tiffany Lopez, and Eli Jr., Fabian and April Gomez; 11 great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Pedro (Cristela) Paredes, Jose Guadalupe Paredes, Pablo (Rita) Paredes, Ernestina (Carlos) Rivera, Andrea (Manuel) Arguellas, Rosie (Abelardo) Sanchez, Minerva (Pioquinto) Garcia; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation was held 11am to 9pm with a rosary that was recited at 7pm on Monday, January 3, 2011 at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am today, Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1200 E. Lincoln Street, Brownsville, Texas.

Rite of Committal to follow in the Buena Vista Burial Park.
