We mournfully announce the passing of Jesse Emmanuel Salazar, 35 years young, of Brownsville, Texas. Jesse was welcomed into Heaven on December 22, 2020 after a hard-fought battle with COVID.
Jesse was born to Marcelino Salazar and Felicitas Irene Salazar. As a child, Jesse was a ball of energy, always laughing while chasing after his brothers.
While Jesse never married, he lived a full and vibrant life. Anyone that knew Jesse knew that he was a special soul. Jesse was a comfort to our parents. He was at his happiest when he was surrounded by family. His devotion to his family was the anchor that defined and shaped his life. His nieces and nephews meant more to him than just him being their uncle. He was their second father.
Jesse was a good friend to many. He could be counted on and depended on always. He was the empathetic ear, a shoulder to lean on, whether seating in silence or passing time watching his beloved sports team like the Houston Texans or the San Antonio Spurs. He loved to cook, especially those weekend BBQ’s.
Jesse is survived by his maternal grandmother, Maria Luisa Garcia and his siblings Norma P. Riojas, Jose M. Salazar, Diana V. Salazar, Daniel E. Salazar and Mark A. Salazar. Jesse’s brother-in-law and sister-in-laws include Reynaldo Riojas, Danielle Echevarria, Leslie Gaona, and Michelle Del La Rosa. Nieces and nephews include Alexia C. Brooks, Catherine N. Brooks, Reina B. Riojas, Gael J. Riojas, Dario R. Salazar, Joseph I. Salazar, Marley Salazar, Madeline M. Oliveira, Zasha M. Oliveira, Josielyn Salazar, Evelyn Salazar, Amber De La Rosa, Samantha De La Rosa and Piper Navaira. He is survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeced by his paternal grandparents Jose C. Salazar and Balbina R. Salazar and his maternal grandfather Felicitos Garcia.
There will be a funeral service held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.
