Jesus Lara Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Angelita M. Lara; and his siblings, Tomasa Galvan, Gilberto Lara, and Jose Guadalupe Lara.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Juana Lara of Brownsville, their children, Jorge (Maria Del Jesus) Lara of Brownsville; Maria (Antonio) Garcia of Brownsville; Jesus (Oralia) Lara, Jr. of Brownsville; Noe (Norma Alicia) Lara of Minnesota; Micaela Lara of Florida; Martina (Juan) Zamarripa of Florida; Benito (Alma Leticia) Lara of Brownsville; Marcela (Tomas) Resendez of Florida; and Laura (Rodolfo) Resendez of Florida; his siblings, Sara Lozoya of Brownsville; Olivia Galvan of Brownsville; Gavino Lara of Brownsville; Andres Lara of Santa Rosa; Gloria Alonzo of Matamoros; Felipe Lara of Houston; Juan Lara of Houston; and Petra Garza of Brownsville; 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin today, Monday, May 6, 2013 at 1 p.m., and continue until 9 p.m., with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, at Good Shephard Catholic Church with burial to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Honored to be serving as Mr. Lara Medrano’s pallbearers will be his family members.
