He is preceded in death by his parents Uvaldo and Anita Vera and his sister Sylvia Vera. Steve is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irma Champion Vera,; his sons Jaime (Normalinda), Javier (Taryn Balducci), and Fernando (Monique) as well as his 3 grandchildren, Mia, Noah and Ella.
Steve was a beloved husband of 54 years who took pride in his family and making memories with his three sons. Steve was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time at the beach and camping with his family. Later in life Steve shared that same love in spending time with his grandchildren as often as he could. Steve proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a Sergeant in the US
Army.
A visitation for Steve will be held September 2, 2024 from 1:00PM-9:00PM with a Rosary at 7:00pm in Chapel of Peace, at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville Texas 78251. A chapel service will occur Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Chapel of Peace, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A burial will occur Tuesday September 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, Texas 78521.
