Josefina was born on August 13th 1942, in Port Isabel, Texas to Rebecca Garza Barrientez and Timoteo Barrientez. Josefina went on to pursue a career in Teaching in BISD education , where she was known for being a Teacher Aid and Substitute.
On August 13th 1963, Josefina married Guadalupe Ramirez Sr. and together they shared 62 wonderful years. They built a life full of love, family, and cherished memories.
Josefina was known for her passion of cooking hamburgers, sopas, and everything that the family enjoyed eating. She loved to gamble at different casinos around Texas and Louisiana. Whether she won or lost, she always looked forward to the next time she went. Whether it was praying the rosary, reading her bible, listening to gospel music, dancing, or simply spending time with loved ones, her face was filled with joy in every occasion. Family was the world to her. Her grandchildren; Anthony, Ricardo, Julie, Giovana, Rolando, Alejandro, Samantha, Tatiana, and Camila were her pride and joy.
Josefina is survived by Guadalupe V. Ramirez (husband); 4 children, Ada Lucio (+Jesus Lucio), Guadalupe Ramirez Jr., Richard Ramirez (Claudia Ramirez), Roland Ramirez (Mariel Ramirez); 9 grandchildren, Anthony Lucio (Sarai Lucio), Ricardo Ramirez, Julie Lucio-Weaver (Luke Weaver), Giovana Ramirez, Rolando Ramirez, Alejandro Ramirez, Samantha Ramirez, Tatiana Ramirez; and one great-grandchild, Camila Weaver. In addition is survived by her sibling Leslie Barrientez (Jessica Barrientez).
Preceded in death by Rebecca Garza Barrientez (mother), Timoteo Barrientez (father), Ernestina Barrientez (sister), Timoteo Barrientez Jr. (brother), Marcelina B. Martinez (sister), Yolanda B. Carrizales (sister), and Cecilio Barrientez (brother).
A Rosary will be held on Friday, June 6 at 7:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. The final service will be a Mass held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Saturday, June 7 at 11:30am.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
