

Juan was born on March 02, 1960 in Brownsville, Tx. he worked with the City of Brownsville Fire Department since 1993. His rank was Fire Engineer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He really enjoyed serving the city of Brownsville and helping people. All the people who knew his heart knew that.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Santos Casanova and Paula T. Casanova.
Mr. Casanova is survived by his wife, Herminia Hernandez-Flores de Casanova; his daughter, Norma Linda Casanova ( Jose Basaldua); sons, Elias Casanova, Rene Casanova (Stephanie), and Juan P. Casanova, Jr.; former wife of 37 years, Lucia G. Casanova, and step-daughter, Vanessa Hernandez. Four grandchildren, Nevaeh M. Casanova, Leah N. Casanova, Nathan O. Casanova, and (unborn) Baby Maddison J. Basaldua. Also, surviving him are his siblings, Gabriel T. Casanova (Vicenta), Mario Casanova, Maria del Carmen Tijerina (Rolando), Conrado Casanova (Elena), Maria Elena Casanova, Maria Santos Rivera (Fabian, Jr.), Maria Esther Casanova, and Jose A. Casanova (Miriam). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitations will begin today, Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 1pm-9pm with a prayer service at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A chapel service will be taking place on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 1pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be the Funeral Honor Guard members of the Brownsville Fire Department. Full honors are being conducted by Brownsville Fire Fighters Association Local 970.
