Born on November 25th, 1960, he was the son of the late Archie John and Marta Morales Dorsett.
Juan was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. He married is wife on June 16, 1979 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Juan worked for the City of Brownsville for 24 years and retired. He moved to Baytown Texas in 2007, to be closer to his daughters and his grandchildren. There he worked for Turner, Industries as a forklift driver. In April 2022, he moved to Corpus Christi, Texas to be closer to his son and his grandchildren. Juan and Dora celebrated 45 years of marriage this year. The love they have for one another has no bounds and will surely transcend from this life into the next. Together they created a beautiful legacy. He loved fishing, being close to the water, and especially, spending time with his family. Juan was a caring and loving husband, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of forty-five years: Dora Hilda Aguilar Dorsett; his children: Sadie Vanessa Dorsett, Juan Manuel Dorsett Jr. and Betsy Lee Dorsett; his daughter in law: Gloria Dorsett; his grandchildren: Carlos Moreno III, Miranda Alexa Moreno, David Lamar Moreno, Brianna Vianey Tapia, Gustavo Tapia Jr., Alexander Michael Dorsett, Riley Marie Dorsett; his great grandchildren: Carlos Moreno IV, Azariah Julian Diaz and Melina Marie Moreno.
Juan was preceded in death by his parents: Archie John Dorsett † and Marta Morales Dorsett †; his nephews: Abel Garza Jr † and Gabriel Elizalde †.
A visitation for Juan will be held Friday, September 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Chapel Service at 6:30 and a Rosary at 7 pm in Chapel of Angels, at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Christ The King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A burial will occur Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
Serving as pallbearers are: Carlos Moreno III, Eleuterio Yañez, David Lamar Moreno, Gustavo Tapia Jr., Juan Morales, Elvin Jay Mccall, Luis Zavala and Rafael Elizalde .
