Juan Alvear Garcia

Born January 16th, 1960 to Eloy Garcia and Oralia Alvear Garcia , Juan lived his life in Brownsville , TX with his 4 siblings Diana Martinez (Arnulfo), Elvira Zuniga, Nora Hooks (Charles) and Eloy Garcia Jr. (Maria);

Juan was strong willed, with an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. He was well respected, loyal, and caring. He was wise, always teaching his knowledge gained throughout his life experiences: Fisherman, Hunter, Mechanic and a Great Family man. He will forever live in our memories and hearts.

He is survived by his wife, Irasema F. Garcia; children, Daisy Cortez (Denis), Juan Garcia Jr. (Julieta), Joel Garcia (Bianca), Joaquin Garcia, Joanna Flores (Francisco); & 10 grandchildren.

Juan was preceded in death by his father Eloy Garcia and his mother Oralia Alvear Garcia.

A visitation for Juan will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd., Brownsville, TX 78521. A mass will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Eugene de Mazenod Catholic Church, 5409 Austin Rd., Brownsville, TX 78521. A burial will occur Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd., Brownsville, TX 78526.

Serving as pallbearers are Juan Garcia Jr., Joel Garcia, Joaquin Garcia, Francisco A. Flores, Oscar Parra, Cirilo Hernandez and honorary pallbearer Eloy Garcia Jr.
