Julia Z. Guajardo

She was born January 9, 1928 in Bustamante, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Her parents were Hilario Zamarripa Torres † and Maria Crescenciana Reyna Hernandez †. She was the oldest of five sisters and two brothers.

She married Jose Meliton Guajardo † in 1952. They renewed the vows with a mass January 1989 to celebrate 36 years of marriage. She became a widow in 1990. She was an active member of the Guadalupanas at Christ the King Church.

Julia is survived by her son Jose (Joe) Guadalupe (Jeannie); her son Luis Bernave (Cricket) (Angel); her daughter Rachel de la Garza (Desi); her son David Joel (Magdalena); her daughter Martina (Tina) Ibarra; her daughter Elia Ester Escamilla; and her son Rafael (Rebecca); her brother Faustino Guadalupe †, her sister Ma. del Refugio Acevedo, her sister Ma. Cleotilde, her sister Ma. Eugenia, her brother Jose Antonio and her sister Gregoria Zamarripa Reyna.

Also left to cherish her memories are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Julia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jose Meliton Guajardo †; her daughter Rebecca Elena †; her father Hilario Zamarripa Torres † and her mother Maria Crescenciana Reyna Hernandez †; her sister Ma. del Carmen †.

A visitation for Julia will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Christ The King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78521, followed by a burial at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, Texas 78526.
