Julio Cesar Niño, 46, of Brownsville Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Known for his big heart, generous spirit, and love of life, Julio left a lasting impact on everyone who had the blessing of knowing him.
A true barbecue enthusiast, Julio had a passion for cooking that extended beyond the kitchen. He proudly competed in CBA BBQ competitions, where his skills and dedication to the craft shine. Whether preparing a feast for family or perfecting recipes for competition, Julio’s joy for food always brought people together.
Julio was a devoted member of San Eugene de Mazenod Catholic Church and found purpose in serving his community. He gave his time freely, whether supporting the Hanna High School band boosters or lending a helping hand to anyone in need. His kindness and generosity were felt far and wide.
Outside of his service and work, Julio cherished life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid fan of the Houston Texans, enjoyed countless fishing trips and beach days with his family, and never missed an opportunity for a good road trip. One of his most beloved traditions was dressing up as Santa Claus each year, bringing joy and laughter to his children and everyone around him. He loved creating memories with his wife and children, from everyday activities to family adventures that will forever be treasured.
Julio’s legacy is one of love, faith, and dedication. He will be deeply missed but remembered with warmth by all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
Julio is survived by his wife, Cynthia Aracely Nino, his daughter Aracely Elayne Nino and his son Julio Cesar Nino Jr. His father Faustino Nino (Yadira), his mother Martha Nino, his sisters Hilda Nino, Diana Nino, and Selena Nino. His brothers Esteban Nino, and Carlos Michael Nino. His in laws, Rosa Maria Zapata, Cesar Olguin, Althinay Trevino Caraveo, Janet Olguin and Rolando Hernandez. His grandmother Esperanza Munoz, his best friends Nick Soto and Jaime Hinojosa and many god children.
Julio was preceded in death by his grandfather Jose Vidal Nino †, and his grandmother Maria de Jesus Nino Moreno †.

A mass will be celebrated in his Honor on Monday, September 22, 2025 at 9:30 am
at St.Eugene De Mazenod Catholic Church, 5409 Austin Rd, Brownsville, TX 78521
Burial of Ashes will follow the mass at 11:00 am at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista & Buena Vista Burial Park, 125 McDavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521.
