With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of Longino "Kino" Gonzalez, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and loyal friend whose kindness, laughter, and love of life touched everyone who knew him.
A proud graduate of Gladys Porter High School, Class of 1979, Kino carried with him the values of hard work, loyalty, and friendship throughout his life.
Kino was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, and football season was one of his favorite times of the year. Whether he was cheering on the Cowboys, gathering with family and friends for game day, or firing up the barbecue, he knew how to bring people together. He loved spending time playing cards, especially chalupa, shooting pool, and sharing stories and laughter with lifelong friends.
He also found great joy in the outdoors. Kino loved fishing and had a remarkable green thumb. His garden was a reflection of his patience and care, and he took pride in watching everything he planted flourish. He enjoyed celebrating holidays with his family, attending church services and Mass, participating in the Sombrero Festival, and traveling to make lasting memories with those he loved.
Kino will be tremendously missed by all who knew and loved him. While our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on through the countless memories, traditions, and love he leaves behind.
May he rest in eternal peace, and may his memory forever be a blessing.
