Lori passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness. She was an extraordinary woman who devoted her life to her children, always putting their needs before her own with unwavering love and selflessness. A true fighter, she faced life's challenges with courage and grace, never allowing obstacles to break her spirit. Her heart of gold, generous nature, and sincere compassion made her a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Hardworking and humble, she was a rare soul whose kindness and strength will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Jaime Ortega, and her children; Cynthia Ortega, Jaime Ortega Jr., and Rosie Ortega. She leaves behind 6 siblings; Avelardo Cuevas, Eva Gutiérrez, Albert Cuevas, Lali Camarillo, David Cuevas, and Margarita Chávez. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her father Jose R. Cuevas, her mother Rosa F. Cuevas, her father in law Enrique Ortega, her mother in law Carmen Garcia, her sisters Patricia Ann Cuevas, Virginia C. Garcia, Juanita Puente, her brothers Daniel Cuevas and Jose Cuevas Jr, her nephews Eric Cuevas, Jose Cuevas III, and Esteban Cuevas and her niece Stephanie Tijerina.
A visitation for Lorraine will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM at Chapel of Angels Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mc. Davitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX.
Visitations will continue Friday, August 1, 2025 from 8:00AM with a chapel service at 12:00 PM at Chapel del Angel at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521.
A burial will occur Friday, August 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mc. Davitt Blvd
