

Luis was a Brownsville native and a Vietnam veteran with the U.S Army 4th Infantry Division where he received the Purple Heart. He was also an avid classic car collector.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria De Jesus Garcia, his sister, Blanca Barrientos, and his brother Enrique Salgado.
He is survived by his wife Dora Medrano, his children, Orlando, Elena, Luis( Valeria), Franco(Debbie), his sisters, Mary Garza (Heriberto+), Rosie Waldhelm (George), Mireya Salgado, Catalina Salgado and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers: Luis Medrano, Franco Medrano, Christopher Urdiales, Marco Medrano, Carlos Barrientos, Isaiah Salgado, Israel Salgado.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Chapel service will take place on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:00 am at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista followed by a committal service at Buena Vista Burial Park. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 2035 of Brownsville.
