Con profundo respeto, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Manuel Lerma Gonzales, quien nació el 20 de agosto de 1925 y partió de este mundo el 31 de mayo de 2026, a la edad de 100 años. Su vida, larga y plena, deja una huella de memoria y gratitud en quienes tuvieron el honor de conocerlo y acompañarlo.
Manuel Lerma González partió de este mundo dejando un legado de fe, amor, trabajo arduo y dedicación a su familia. Fue un fiel miembro de la Iglesia Católica San José y un maestro de la jardinería durante más de 60 años. Manuel encontraba una gran alegría en cuidar la creación de Dios y era reconocido por su amplio conocimiento y talento en la horticultura. También fue un experimentado ranchero y hombre de a caballo, cuya sabiduría, dedicación y sólida ética de trabajo fueron admiradas por todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.
Más allá de todos sus logros, Manuel será recordado por la extraordinaria persona que fue. Fue un esposo, padre, abuelo, tío, hermano, primo y amigo amoroso y dedicado. Bondadoso, generoso, humilde, inteligente y fuerte en carácter y en fe, tocó innumerables vidas con su compasión, sus consejos y su amor incondicional.
Su familia atesorará para siempre los recuerdos compartidos a su lado: su risa, sus historias, su amor por la música y los momentos de alegría que disfrutaron juntos bailando, cantando y celebrando la vida. Su profunda fe en Dios, su espíritu noble y su ejemplo de integridad, amor y servicio continuarán inspirando a todos aquellos que fueron bendecidos con su amistad y cariño.
Aunque su partida deja un gran vacío en nuestros corazones, el legado de Manuel vivirá para siempre en la memoria y el amor de su familia y amigos. Que descanse en la paz eterna y goce de la presencia de nuestro Señor.

Le precedieron en el fallecimiento su esposa, Maria Guadalupe Lerma †; su padre, Ursulo Lerma †; sus nietos, Juan Manuel Pena † y Juan Antonio Pena †; su sobrina, Patricia Loza †; sus hermanos, Liberato †, Ramon †, Monserath † y Sergio Lerma †; y sus hermanas, Teresa †, Marta † y Santos Loreto †.
La velación se llevará a cabo en Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, Capilla De Angel, ubicada en 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, US, el 7 de junio de 2026, de 4:00 pm a 10:00 pm con un Rosario A las 7:00 pm.
La misa fúnebre se celebrará en St. Joseph Catholic Church Office, 600 W St Francis St, Brownsville, TX 78520, US, el 8 de junio de 2026 a las 12:30 pm.
El entierro se realizará en Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX 785269618, US, el 8 de junio de 2026 a las 2:00 pm.

With deep respect, we announce the passing of Manuel Lerma Gonzales, who was born on August 20, 1925, and departed this world on May 31, 2026, at the age of 100. His long and full life leaves a legacy of remembrance and gratitude in all who had the honor of knowing him and accompanying him.
Manuel Lerma Gonzalez passed away leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and devotion to family. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a master gardener for more than 60 years. Manuel found great joy in caring for God's creation and was known for his exceptional knowledge and talent as a horticulturist. He was also an experienced rancher and horseman whose wisdom, dedication, and strong work ethic were admired by all who knew him.
More than any of his accomplishments, Manuel will be remembered for the remarkable person he was. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin, and friend. Kind, generous, humble, intelligent, and strong in both character and faith, he touched countless lives through his compassion, guidance, and unwavering love.
Manuel's family will forever treasure the memories they shared with him—his laughter, his stories, his love of music, and the joyful moments spent dancing, singing, and celebrating life together. His steadfast faith in God, gentle spirit, and enduring example of integrity and love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
Though he will be deeply missed, Manuel's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace in the loving presence of our Lord.
He is survived by his daughters, Maria Isabel Lerma and Rosa Maria Lerma; his grandchildren, Crystal Pena, Ruben O'Bell, Patricia O'Bell, Anna O'Bell, and Nancy O'Bell; and his nieces and nephews, Madga De La Rosa, Eduardo De La Rosa, Paula Lerma, and Liberato Lerma Jr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Guadalupe Lerma †; his father, Ursulo Lerma †; his grandsons, Juan Manuel Pena † and Juan Antonio Pena †; his niece, Patricia Loza †; his brothers, Liberato †, Ramon †, Monserath †, and Sergio Lerma †; and his sisters, Teresa †, Marta †, and Santos Loreto †.
The visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, Capilla De Angel, located at 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, US, on June 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.
