Maria Julia Aguliar was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born in San Benito, Texas on August 14, 1936 and passed away on April 6, 2023 in Rosharon, Texas. She was surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 86.
She met Heriberto Shears Aguliar at school in the 8th grade. Heriberto would wait for Julia at the corner of the street for her to get out of class. They would have long talks while she waited for her ride to pick her up. They later got married at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in 1954 at the young age of 17.
She was an active member in her local Catholic Church, and participated in various trips and activities at the Madison Jobe Senior Center, with her daughter Julie. When she wasn’t shopping, she spent her spare time embroidering pillows and blankets for her family members.
Julia traveled throughout the United States with her husband, it was one of her favorite things to do. She loved to capture all of her adventures, so you could never find her without her disposable camera in her hand. She truly felt blessed to be given the life she had, and to be able to travel with the love of her life.
Julia was very loved within her community, and had a laugh that was contagious. She will be missed dearly.
Julia is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Heriberto Aguliar; her sisters Dora, Eva and Helen; her daughter, Martha Fisher and her husband, Richard; her daughter, Carol Robles and her husband, Danny; her daughter, Macrina Carrizal and her husband, Richard; her daughter, Julie Lopez and her husband, Ruben; her son, Adrian Aguliar, as well as 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Julia was preceded in death by her mother, Concepcion Cantu; her father, Adrian Garcia; her son, Heriberto Aguliar Jr.; her son, George Aguliar; and her granddaughter Martha Lowman.
Serving as pallbearers are Richard Carrizal, Ruben Lopez, Daniel Robles, Richard Fisher, Walter Mackechney, Dylan Vecera and honorary pallbearer Heriberto Aguilar.
