Maria Lidia Siller Briones, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on May 23, 2026, in Arlington, Texas. She was born on December 14, 1939 in Brownsville, TX and lived a life marked by faith, devotion, love, and unwavering loyalty to Jehovah.
Maria Lidia was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 17, 1955, and faithfully served Jehovah for 70 years. She was an excellent example of faith, loyalty, kindness, and endurance. Her love for Jehovah and His son, Jesus Christ, touched the lives of everyone who knew her and continues to inspire all who remain.
Lidia was a deeply loved daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and steadfast faith will be greatly missed by her entire family. Though our hearts grieve her absence, we find comfort in the wonderful hope found at Revelation 21:3,4, and look forward to the day when we will see her again very soon in Paradise.
The family sincerely thanks everyone for their presence, comforting words, prayers, and support during these difficult moments of sorrow. Your kindness and love are deeply appreciated.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Deborah Briones Veloz (Rogelio) and Esther Briones Ortiz (Armando); her treasured grandchildren, Elitza Veloz, Armando Ortiz Jr. (Keila), Krystal Soto (Jonathan), Maritza Veloz, and Karina Minier (Joel); along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Maria Lidia was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Abelardo and Catarina Siller; her loving husband, Guadalupe L. Briones; her cherished daughter, Michelle Lilia Briones; and her dear siblings, Abelardo Siller Jr., Héctor Siller, Rodolfo Siller, Alicia S. García, Ninfa S. Rosales, Dorina S. Alviar, and Cesar Siller.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, US, on June 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a Talk at 7:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel rd., Brownsville, TX 78526, on June 2, 2026 at 10:45 am. We kindly request to please meet the family at the cemetery.
