Angie was beloved by many. Friends, co-workers and family loved her sense of humor and quick wit. Playful by nature, Angie delighted in games and brought that sense of play to her community work with the Catholic Daughters of America visiting nursing homes to offer la loteria game to residents. Angie was sustained by her deep faith in God and her dedication to her profession and family.
Angie graduated salutatorian from St Ursuline High School in Laredo, TX. She earned a scholarship to Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, TX where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. She worked in hospitals and doctor's offices until the 1980's when she became a Laboratory Supervisor at Lab Corps in Brownsville, TX.
Maria is survived by her daughter; Rebecca Garza, her son in law; Allen Rodriguez, her grandson; Mateo Cimadevilla, and her granddaughter; Cristina Cimadevilla.
Maria was preceded in death by her husband; Gilberto Garza, her parents; Josefina Molina and Gustavo Gaona †, and her sister; Maria De La Luz "Lucha" Clovis Benavides †.
A memorial service for Maria will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Chapel Of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
